How to share your product on WIP
TL;DR
WIP (wip.co) is a community of 3,848 makers who post daily todos in public, keep shipping streaks and list their products in a shared project directory. Membership costs $29 a month or $199 a year, one price worldwide. It suits indie hackers who build in public and want daily accountability.
What is WIP?
WIP describes itself as "a group of makers shipping together" and "the accountability network for people building in public". Members post todos, small pieces of finished work, which appear in a public feed tagged with the project they belong to, such as #heynews or #buildinpublic. Posting one todo a day grows your streak. The join page quotes members with streaks of 1,334 days and levelsio (Pieter Levels) with 41,282 todos shipped.
Marc Köhlbrugge, who built WIP, still logs his own changes to the site in the public feed: on 29 October 2026 he posted several of them. Around the feed you find:
- a projects directory with 4,995 projects, sorted by topic from Developers (631) to E-Commerce (129), plus a Recently launched list
- Discussions, direct messages and weekly video hangouts
- members-only deals and discounts on apps and services
Who should join WIP?
- Indie hackers and solo founders who want daily accountability and a public record of their work.
- Bootstrapped SaaS and app makers who want feedback from people who have shipped products themselves.
- Skip it if you want a free launch or a quick burst of traffic: WIP is paid and rewards steady posting over months.
How much does WIP cost?
WIP charges $29 a month or $199 a year (the yearly plan gives you five months free), and you can cancel anytime. There is one price for everyone worldwide, no purchasing power discount and no lifetime plan, and payment is by credit card only. The fee, says WIP, pays for the site without selling your data.
The Pro page lists what the membership includes: streak freezes, unlimited and private projects, shipping stats, a "Commit" feature that puts money on your goals, no ads, muting, and an API and MCP connection for your own tools and AI agents.
How do you share your startup on WIP?
- Open the WIP join page, enter your email, username and password, and complete checkout. The welcome screen calls WIP a curated community in which existing members invite new ones; the join page itself goes straight to checkout.
- Click Add your Project in the projects directory and add your product with its name, tagline and topic.
- Post your first todo with your project's hashtag, such as "Ship pricing page #yourproject". It appears in the public feed with a link to your project.
- Keep posting as you build. Launched products are grouped in the Recently launched list on the projects page, where other makers browse them.
- Post one todo every day to grow your streak, reply to other makers and join a weekly hangout.
Tips to get more out of WIP
- Post outcomes. "Reach 50 waitlist signups" tells other makers more than "worked on marketing".
- Ask for feedback inside a todo, with a link and one precise question; members answer in the replies.
- Use a streak freeze before a holiday so one missed day does not reset a long streak.
- Know the SEO reality. The domain authority of 53 belongs to wip.co. The return comes from the audience of makers and your public record, so judge WIP by replies and signups.
Our verdict
WIP rewards makers who post every day, and the fee keeps the feed free of hit-and-run promotion. Pay for it if you will log your work daily; for a single launch announcement, a free launch site gives more for less.
