How to register on the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP)

TL;DR

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is a free support portal for women entrepreneurs in India, started at NITI Aayog and run as a public-private partnership since 2022. Registration is free of cost and opens a free mentorship platform, a catalogue of 835+ government initiatives and 576+ incubators and accelerators, partner discounts and funding programmes. It suits aspiring and existing women founders in India. We found no public directory of member startups, so expect support and contacts, with no backlink.

What is WEP?

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform was ideated and incubated in 2017 at NITI Aayog, the Government of India's policy think tank. Amitabh Kant, then CEO of NITI Aayog, announced it at the close of the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad that year. In 2022 WEP became a public-private partnership, with Microsave Consulting as content partner.

WEP gives support in 6 areas: training and skilling, access to finance, market linkage, business support services, mentoring and networking, and compliance and legal support. On 30 October 2026 its homepage counted 944+ mentors, 835+ government initiatives, 576+ incubators and accelerators, 53+ partners and a "WEP family" of 120,672+ members. WEP also runs state chapters, from Mizoram, Goa, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to Odisha, launched on 27 June 2026.

Who should register on WEP?

  • Women in India with a business idea: the form has an "Aspiring" option.
  • Women running an existing enterprise, from a micro business to a funded startup, who need mentors, scheme information or credit support.
  • Founders who want to apply to Award to Reward (ATR) programmes, in which WEP partners run challenges and reward the winners.
  • Skip it if you are based outside India: the mobile field uses the +91 code, and the schemes are Indian.

How much does WEP cost?

Registration is entirely free of cost, according to the WEP FAQ, and the mentorship platform is free for mentors and mentees alike. WEP asks members to report any mentor who requests payment to wep@wepindia.org. A partner deals page lists discounts for members, such as 500 Heyo credits, up to 50% off CAxpert accounting and an extra 10% off the ffreedom app, with a disclaimer that WEP endorses none of them.

How do you share your startup on WEP?

  1. Open the WEP registration page, click Register at the top and choose Entrepreneur.
  2. Fill in first and last name, gender, and whether you are an aspiring or an existing entrepreneur.
  3. Choose to sign up by mobile, email or both, enter your email and Indian mobile number, set a password and add a referral code if you have one. Confirm with the one-time code.
  4. Watch for the confirmation email: it adds you to WEP's member rolls.
  5. Log in, take the guided tour, then use Smart Match to get recommendations for mentors, schemes and partner programmes.

Tips to get more out of WEP

  • Choose the mentorship track that fits: individual mentoring, programmes run by organisations, curated workshops or Peer 2 Peer mentoring with other founders.
  • Message mentors first. WEP's model lets no mentor start contact, so the first move is yours.
  • Check the Award to Reward page every quarter. Past programmes such as WEP-Unnati for green businesses and Womenpreneurs for Bharat ran for 6 to 12 months.
  • Read the scheme pages before you visit a bank: they list programmes such as Stand-Up India and NEDFi's Women Enterprise Development scheme in one place.

Our verdict

WEP puts mentors, government schemes, incubators and partner deals for women founders in India into one free account, backed by NITI Aayog. It brings no SEO link and no public showcase for your startup. Register if you build in India, and put your hours into mentorship and ATR programmes.
