How to list your startup on Techboard

TL;DR

Techboard is an Australian startup directory and funding database with over 3,000 company profiles. A company profile and the announcements tool are free; only the funding data subscriptions cost money. It suits Australian startups and tech companies under 10 years old that want a profile investors and researchers can find.

What is Techboard?

Techboard is a data company for the Australian startup sector, run from Western Australia by Acceleration Venture Catalysts Pty Ltd. It has collected startup data since 2015 and has built a national funding dataset since July 2017, used by Australian governments, the Tech Council of Australia, universities and investors.

The public side is the Techboard Directory, searchable by name and filterable by category (Fintech, AI, Agtech, CleanTech, Edtech and more) and by state. The research side publishes funding reports, including Australian Startup Funding in Review 2024 and a March 2026 report on unannounced investments.

Who should submit to Techboard?

Good fit:

  • Australian startups and young tech companies: founded in Australia, or founded abroad with the headquarters and real operations moved there.
  • Companies with proprietary technology or IP behind the product, or a high-growth startup model, under 10 years old (exceptions after a major pivot or a long development period).
  • ASX-listed startups, which Techboard includes on purpose, and founders who have raised money and want the round in the funding data.

Skip it:

  • Companies with no Australian base, agencies, businesses without their own technology, and companies fully acquired by another firm.

How much does Techboard cost?

Listing is free. A company profile, claiming an existing profile and the announcements platform cost nothing; the "How it works" page says claiming ownership is free "for now".

The paid product is funding data: annual subscriptions in tiers for investors, advisers and startup hubs. Techboard publishes no prices and asks buyers to send an enquiry. A startup needs none of this to be listed.

How do you share your startup on Techboard?

  1. Read the listing rules. The team screens every application, rejects some and contacts you when your eligibility is unclear.
  2. Search the Techboard Directory. If your company already has a profile, open it and click "claim ownership".
  3. If it has none, register, log in and use Add a Company/Claim ownership to apply for the listing and ownership in one step.
  4. Once approved, edit the profile under My Dashboard, My Profiles: elevator pitch, categories, website, founding year, state, founders, social links, awards and a video.
  5. Post news from My Profiles as an announcement (Investment, Product launch/update, Contract/Partnership, Team Update and more). It shows on the Announcements page and on your profile.

Tips to get more out of Techboard

  • Write the elevator pitch for an investor: what you sell, to whom, and your proof of traction. Techboard presents the profile as an investor relations page.
  • Report your rounds through the funding event form (for investors and advisers) or at funding@techboard.com.au. Techboard also tracks funding for female-founded companies for a planned report.
  • Fill in every field, founders and state included, so the category and state filters pick you up.
  • Link your own domain. On a profile we checked in October 2026, the website link carried no nofollow attribute.

Our verdict

Techboard gives an eligible Australian tech company a free, screened profile next to a funding dataset that governments and researchers use, and setup takes ten minutes. The announcements feed has been quiet since November 2023, so count on the profile and the funding data for visibility and on other channels for news.
