How to put your startup on The Hub
TL;DR
The Hub (thehub.io) is the recruitment platform and startup directory for Nordic startups. Startupmatcher merged into it in 2022, and startupmatcher.com now redirects there. A company profile is free, job posts start at €99, and pre-funding or pre-revenue startups can post jobs for free through the Community Program. Only registered startups based in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland or Iceland get in.
What is The Hub?
Danske Bank Growth launched The Hub in 2015. In 2022 Mesh Community bought it and merged in Startupmatcher, which it already owned. The Hub reports more than 1.2 million applications to over 14,000 growth companies since 2015 and 120,000+ monthly active users, and its page for startups promises a reach of 850k+ startup-ready candidates.
A startup appears there in two ways:
- A startup profile that candidates browse by market, stage, size, culture and location.
- Job posts, sent by email to subscribed candidates and passed on to 150+ partner job boards.
The site also runs an investor list of Nordic investors.
Who should submit to The Hub?
Good fit:
- Nordic-registered startups and scale-ups with a team and a working website.
- Founders hiring a first employee or co-founder in the Nordics, or remote people who want to join a Nordic company.
Skip it:
- Companies registered outside the Nordics. The Hub does not accept them.
- Corporates, recruitment agencies and external headhunters, which are banned from the site.
- Companies that fail The Hub's startup test. You need at least three of four: founded less than 20 years ago, planning to grow with outside investors, a business that grows through technology more than headcount, and a product that challenges the status quo in its market.
How much does The Hub cost?
- Startup profile: free, with unlimited user seats and a free applicant tracking system.
- Job posts (pricing page, October 2026): €99 per job for 30 days, Pro at €330 for 45 days with featured placement and social media promotion, and Max at €1,100 for 60 days with a recruiter who sources and screens candidates for you.
- Community Program: free entry-level job posts for startups that are pre-funding, pre-revenue or exist only to support the Nordic startup ecosystem. The Hub promises an answer within 1 business day.
- Scout: a headhunting service you pay per successful hire.
How do you share your startup on The Hub?
- Open Create startup profile and confirm the three eligibility points: you are a startup, based in the Nordics, and a registered business with a team and a working website.
- Work through the 17-step form: locations, industry, funding, impact, business model, photos, perks and team, plus optional headline figures, investors and user numbers.
- Submit. The Customer Success team reviews every registered business against the startup rules.
- When you hire, post a job from your dashboard, or apply to the Community Program first if you qualify.
Tips to get more out of The Hub
- Fill in culture, perks and team. Candidates filter startups by culture, stage and location, and a complete profile matches more searches.
- Keep the profile live between hiring rounds. The Hub's own FAQ tells founders to keep one even when they are not recruiting.
- Apply to the Community Program before you pay if you have no funding or revenue yet.
Our verdict
For a Nordic startup, The Hub is the obvious place to be seen by people who want to work at startups, and the profile costs nothing. Founders outside Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland cannot register, so they should skip this listing.
