How to get your kids' app reviewed on Appysmarts

TL;DR

Appysmarts is an editor-run review site for children's apps and games on iOS and Android, with 3,140 apps in its database in October 2026. Suggesting an app is free through a short form, and the editors choose which requests they answer. It suits founders of educational and family apps for ages 2 to 13; every other startup can skip it.

What is Appysmarts?

Appysmarts (appysmarts.com) reviews apps for kids on smartphones and tablets and is run by Upper Mind (uppermind.pl). Each review page shows:

  • the developer, platform and price, plus flags such as "May contain ads" and "May contain in-app purchases";
  • an overall score out of 100 and the age range the app fits, on a scale from 2 to 13 years;
  • what the app is, what the editors liked and disliked, and ratings for graphic quality, length of play and educational value;
  • a download button that points to the App Store or Google Play page.

The site still publishes. The newest review we found is dated 22 October 2026, and the RSS feed lists new reviews in every month from June to October 2026. Parents find the reviews through themed lists, such as best preschool apps, and an email newsletter.

Who should submit to Appysmarts?

  • Founders of educational apps, interactive books and games for children between 2 and 13.
  • Edtech startups that want an independent score to quote on their website or in a pitch deck.
  • Skip it if your product is a B2B tool, a web app or anything without an App Store or Google Play page. Appysmarts reviews mobile apps for kids and nothing else.

How much does Appysmarts cost?

Submitting is free. The form offers two free options: adding your app to the Appysmarts database and newsletter, and asking for a free evaluation. We found no paid review, sponsored placement or fast-track fee anywhere on the site, which runs Google ads to pay its way.

How do you submit your app to Appysmarts?

  1. Open the Suggest an App form.
  2. Enter your name and email, then tick one or both boxes: database and newsletter, or free evaluation.
  3. Add the app name and a one-sentence description of up to 400 characters, such as "An interactive book with extra activities."
  4. If your app is paid, add a promo code. The form marks it as required for paid apps.
  5. Use the comments field for the age range, the platforms and what a child learns, then complete the captcha and send.

Appysmarts states that it responds only to selected review requests, so silence means your app was not picked this time.

Tips to get more out of Appysmarts

  • Name the age band in your one-sentence description ("for ages 4 to 6"). Reviews are sorted by age, and a clear band makes your app easy to place.
  • Release both versions before you apply. Appysmarts reviews iOS and Android as separate entries, so two platforms give you two review pages.
  • Expect blunt comments on ads. One October 2026 review lists "ads inferno" as a downside, so submit an ad-free or parent-gated build if you have one.
  • Once the review is live, quote the score on your website and link to the review from your press page.

Our verdict

Appysmarts is a small, active review site for children's apps, written by real editors and free to approach. For a kids' app founder it is worth ten minutes of form filling; for any other startup it brings nothing.
